Worth County R-III Coronavirus Information
Update April 2, 2020
We hope that you and your family are well. The Worth County Elementary teachers have made new learning packets for students. We are asking parents to come to the High School entrance on April 6 between 4-6 pm to turn in their children's completed work and pick up their child's new assignments. The Worth County Library will not be open, but students may return any books that they have finished. If you have any questions you may contact the staff in the Elementary office tomorrow (April 3rd) in the morning. Worth County High School teachers are sending work through Google Classroom to those students with internet access and devices. For those students that do not have access, their assignments will be mailed on Friday, April 3. Have a great evening.
Update March 31, 2020
Good Afternoon, the Worth County Commissioners issued an ordinance which extends the school closure due to COVID-19 until Monday, May 4th, unless terminated sooner or extended further by Ordinance from the Worth County Commission. The school district will continue to offer meals to children 18 or younger, needing that service. Contact Dr. Martz via email or call 660-564-3389 if you would like to be added to our count. This meal service is free to those in our school district who are 18 years old or younger. Teachers will continue to provide students with learning opportunities and we will provide more information soon. Have a great rest of the day and stay safe.
Update March 30, 2020
Please use this link to fill out the short survey: https://tinyurl.com/wcinternet
If the school closure is extended past April 6, which it looks as if it will, then Worth County R-III will need to develop a plan to support the education of all students. This survey is to inquire if students have access to a computer and internet. We realize that there are various reasons why a student will not have access to internet or a computer or Chromebook. Thanks for filling out this survey to help us create an academic plan.
During the extended closure, it is our goal to keep students engaged as well as limit any losses in academic gains. The plan for instruction is being developed by teachers and administrators and this survey will help us determine the best plan of action. The instruction and curriculum will not mirror a normal school day or 4th quarter, but we hope to stay in touch with all students and learn while staying in a safe environment.
More information will be available after April 1, but please fill out this survey so we can be prepared if we are unable to return to school on April 6. Thanks for your cooperation and we'll get through this challenging time together.

Update March 19, 2020
Hello, this is the Worth County R3 school district calling to inform you that our district has been authorized to feed all children breakfast and lunch each day for students and children 18 years and younger. This includes children, not in school. In order for us to make enough meals, we need to get as many of you as we can to go to the district website and fill out the survey located in the scrolling important news in the upper right-hand corner. If you can not get to the survey, you may call the school offices and have the secretaries sign you up. We will begin serving on Monday, March 23. More information can be found on the district website.
Update March 16, 2020
Good Evening! The Worth County R3 school district will be in session tomorrow, March 17, 2020. We will take the opportunity to educate students on COVID-19 as well as proper handwashing, and social distance. We will, however, close school from March 18 - April 3 and possibly longer. Currently, all activities, including prom, have been postponed. The school district's weight room is also closed to the public. We are preparing a survey to identify families that would need food from the breakfast and lunch program. We will notify you when this survey is available. If you do not have access to the internet, you may call the school to let us know of your interest in the food program. Again, we will hold school tomorrow.
