The following is a list of projects that the donations to the Worth County Education Foundation were able to celebrate and fund.

Tiger teams honored...

The 1967 GRC Football Championship team was honored during the 2006 Football Homecoming.

The Tiger football teams of the 1940's and 1950's were honored guests during Homecoming 2007.

 


WCEF Funds 2 Mini Grants to WC School

Because of generous donations from WC alumni, the Foundation is able to fund two mini grants per year to the Worth County school staff and/or student activities.

These grants have included such things as a new water fountain for the boys' lockerroom, chair pockets to hold student materials in the classroom, nonfiction books for kindergarten, a new basketball hoop for kindergarten, training for teachers on the Developmental Assets as well as other projects.

WCEF Able to Fund a Scholarship for School

The WCEF was able to fund a $500 scholarship to go to a Worth County student attending either a 4-or 2-year institution of higher education.

Recipients have been 2007: Alyssa Miller, 2008: Logan Dignan 2009: Elizabeth Runde, 2010: Garrett Hawk, 2011: Felicia Cook

 


Families, classes and organizations sponsor scholarships for local students...

The Miller family established a scholarship in honor of their parents, Claude and Loraine Miller.

The Class of 1966 established a one-time scholarship for a graduating senior of Worth County R-III.

The family of the late Earl Hardy established a scholarship in honor of their father and their mother Madge (Bunker) Hardy.

The family of Marie Hauber Ross has established a scholarship in her honor.

The Class of 1944 sponsors the Class of 1944 Leader's Scholarship for students that show outstanding leadership skills througout their high school career.

The Class of 1971 is sponsoring a scholorship beginning in 2012.

Alumni are maintaining the Scott Darrach Academic Bowl Scholarship which goes to an outstanding Academic Bowl Team member.

A Homecoming MVP Award has been established in honor of Bob Prather, Class of 1970.

WCEF Establishes an Honor List for Donors

The WCEF has established a list which honors alumni and others who have donated to help maintain the WCEF. Those supporters are greatly appreciated!
